Joseph Wright Bishop of Sheffield, York, Corn Factor and Coal Owner. Thomas Creswick of Ecclesall, Sheffield, Yorkshire. Gentleman. George Hounsfield of Sheffield, Yorkshire. Coal Merchant. NB Thomas Creswick and George Hounsfield are acting as trustees of the Sheffield and Rotherham Building Society. SUBJECT Joseph Bishop is giving his lease on property in Sheffield as security to the Sheffield and Rotherham Banking Company. There is no specific mention of any sum being borrowed at this time. The property is a plot with 3 houses on the corner of Wilkinson Street and Porter Road, Sheffield. There is copy of a letter attached which is from the bank to the Rev William Cartledge of York telling him of the second mortgage. (The Rev Cartledge holds the first mortgage on the property for £700). NB The houses built on the plot were later known (in 1938) as numbers 33 and 35 Wilkinson Street and number 1 Filey Street. | |||||||||||||
