Thomas Wardle of Warkworth died intestate in 1892 survived by his wife Dorothy and 3 children (the parties to this contract). Dorothy died in 1901 and the eldest son, James, who inherited all the property, is now transferring some of it to William and Isabella.
The property involved is:
1. Freehold messuage with garden and outbuildings behind in the town of Warkworth, Northumberland, bounded on the East by land called Ellmyre and the Queens High Street on the West. Together with: a) ridge of land in Ellmyre b) Butts of land belonging to the said messuage in the Heatherleazes(?).
2. Parcel of enclosed land in Warkworth containing 918 square yards called 'The Butts' and formerly belonging to the White Swan bounded on the East by a road from the South end of Warkworth Bridge to Amble.
The document includes manuscript memoranda on the back of two further conveyances in 1955.
