George Yates of Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, Yeoman Richard Pilkington formerly of Blackburn, Timber Merchant, now of Liverpool, Lancashire, Innkeeper Thomas Ratcliffe of Blackburn, Lancashire, Gentleman Charles Heptonstall of Blackburn, Lancashire, Shopman John Fisher of Blackburn, Lancashire, Gentleman Thomas Bulcock of Blackburn, Lancashire (former owner of property, died 1842) SUBJECT Conveyance of property in Blackburn on the South East side of St Paul's Street. Also 2 dwelling houses. The document begins by reciting a sale by Lease and Release in 1791 to Proctor Ratcliffe of Blackburn, Reedmaker, of a plot of land of 6964 square yards in Blackburn. Part of this plot was leased to Thomas Bulcock of Blackburn, Joiner and Timber Merchant in 1791. Thomas Bulcock then died in 1842 appointing George Yates and Richard Pilkington as his trustees and leaving his wife Rose as the main beneficiary. We are also told that Proctor Ratcliffe died intestate in 1839 leaving Thomas Ratcliffe, his eldest son, as heir. Charles Heptonstall is now acquiring the property with John Fisher as some sort of Trustee. | ||||||||||||
